Almanca’da yüklem daima 2. sıradadır.

Wir gehen ins Kino. Heute gehen wir ins Kino.

‘ja’, ‘nein’, ‘und’, ‘aber’, ‘oder’, ‘denn’ ve ‘sondern’ cümlenin elemanı sayılmaz ve bu nedenle yer tutmazlar, cümle dizilişini etkilemezler.

Ja, wir gehen oft ins Kino. Aber heute gehen wir in die Disco.

Sorularda:

Evet (ja) veya hayır (nein ile yanıtlanabilecek sorular fiil (yüklem) ile başlar:

Geht ihr oft ins Kino? 
Bist du Amerikanerin? 
Regnet es heute?

Bir bilgi içeren ve evet-hayır ile yanıtlanamayan sorular Interrogativ (wann, warum, was, wer, wie, wieviel, wie viele, wo, woher, wohin) soru kelimelerinden biriyle başlar ve bundan sonra hemen fiil gelir:

Warum geht ihr gern ins Kino? 
Wo ist die Disco? 
Wo regnet es oft?
